Russia Accuses Western Support for Ukraine of Creating "Terrorist State"
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Russia accused Western support for Ukraine of creating a "terrorist state" in the center of Europe. Vyacheslav Volodin, the head of State Duma, claimed that the support of Washington and Brussels for the Kyiv authorities has led to the creation of a "terrorist state." He further claimed that the Kyiv regime is trying to intimidate and destroy those who speak the truth. Volodin said that Russia's Federal Security Service has prevented a number of attacks against journalists, including the recent killing of prominent Russian military correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky in St. Petersburg.
Russia's anti-terrorism committee claimed that Ukraine's special services were behind the explosion that killed Tatarsky. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied any involvement and stated that Russia should focus on their own affairs.
The accusation of Western support for Ukraine creating a "terrorist state" highlights the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine. The conflict between the two countries began in 2014 when Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine, leading to a separatist conflict in eastern Ukraine. The conflict has caused thousands of deaths and displacement of civilians.
The recent killing of Tatarsky has added to the tension between Russia and Ukraine, with Russia pointing fingers at Ukraine for the attack. The accusation by Russia of Western support for Ukraine creating a "terrorist state" is likely to further strain the already fragile relationship between Russia and the West.
Despite the accusations and tensions, it is important for all parties to prioritize peace and diplomacy. The use of violence and terrorism is never justified and only leads to further harm and destruction. It is crucial for all sides to work towards resolving conflicts through peaceful means and finding common ground to build a peaceful future.
