Saudi Arabia's tourism sector records historical figures with increase in foreign visitors


(MENAFN) According to the Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, the number of foreign visitors to Saudi Arabia increased from 2.4 million in January to 2.5 million in February. Al-Khateeb expressed his satisfaction with the "historical figures" achieved by the Kingdom in terms of visitor numbers and occupancy rates, during the fifth monthly virtual meeting with investors and citizens in the tourism sector.

In order to support the growth of the tourism sector, Al-Khateeb revealed that the ministry has invested SR400 million (USD106.48 million) to train over 100,000 young Saudi men and women. He emphasized that the ministry is committed to ensuring their employment opportunities and urged everyone to collaborate to achieve this goal.

The Minister highlighted the importance of industry players adhering to the new regulations set by the ministry. He emphasized that the ministry will be vigilant in monitoring and imposing penalties on violators, particularly those who violate regulations pertaining to tourist guides. This is in line with the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing the visitor experience and ensuring their safety during their travels to Saudi Arabia.
