(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Jordan has participated in the 2023 South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festival, becoming the first Arab country to participate in the global event, which focuses on creative industries.According to a Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship statement released on Sunday, official figures, innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs attended the conference under the umbrella of the ministry's "Jordan Source" programme.
This programme aims to promote Jordan as an investment destination for technology and digitisation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The programme is being implemented with the direct support of the office of HRH Crown Prince Hussein and the World Bank Group (WBG).
The programme aims to create a“collaborative investing system” in the technology and digitisation sector facilitate investors' journey and highlight the attractive factors and successes of Jordan, including its young professionals, exceptional investment environment, strong infrastructure and globally competitive resources.
It is worth noting that the ministry and the "Jordan Source" programme have carried out a tour to Silicon Valley in California and also to Washington D.C., promoting Jordan's tourist attractions and information and communication technology investment opportunities, in addition to communicating with representatives of prominent institutions, investors and a number of influential Jordanian expatriates who support the ministry's efforts.
