Tragic Kayaking Accident Claims Father and Son on Beaver Lake in Arkansas

(MENAFN) Five days have passed since the tragic disappearance of a father and son while kayaking on Beaver Lake in Arkansas. The Benton County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that they are presumed dead and law enforcement is now working to recover their bodies. The mother of the victims, Pamela Thompson, believes that they likely drowned after one of them fell into the cold lake from a kayak and the other attempted to rescue him.

In the midst of this unimaginable loss, Thompson finds some solace in the fact that her husband Chuck Morris, 46, and son Charlie Morris, 20, died together. Charlie was a talented musician and athlete, playing the violin and guitar while also competing as a three-season runner and leading the orchestra at Ohio Wesleyan University. He aspired to become a lawyer. Chuck was a father to Charlie and his 12-year-old sister, as well as a highly respected percussionist with the electronic-jam band Lotus.

Chuck's bandmate Jesse Miller revealed that Lotus had just wrapped up a 25-city tour before the family decided to travel from Kansas City to Beaver Lake, Arkansas for a much-needed vacation. The tragic loss of this loving father and son has left their family and friends devastated. Thompson is grateful for the outpouring of support and love from the community during this difficult time.
