Fire Disasters: National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Takes Sensitization To Filling Stations In Plateau

The North Central Zonal Office
of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), ON 15th of March, 2023 took an advocacy and sensitization visit to
major Independent Oil Marketers in Jos. The visit is part of efforts put in place by
NEMA to prevent and mitigate fire disaster within the Zone.

Meeting with the managers, management and staff of the
stations, North Central Zonal Coordinator, Mr Eugene Nyelong, represented by the Head of Search and Rescue Department, Mr Nurudeen Musa, said the essence of the visit was to sensitize them on fire safety
so as to prevent & mitigate fire disaster .

Mr. Nurudeen Musa further stated that currently, there are incidences of fire disaster all over the country; hence the need for proper caution and vigilance. He used the avenue to seek for more collaboration among stakeholders to forestall fire outbreaks
