Epidemiology Center Partakes In WHO Emergency Response Workshop

Amman, Mar. 15 (Petra) -- The Jordanian National Center for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Control (JCDC) participated in a consultative workshop on preparedness and response to public health emergencies, which was held at the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to a statement issued Wednesday, the workshop was held on March 14-15, bringing together national public health institutions from all over the world.
The workshop is considered a platform for public health institutions to advise, coordinate, and lead in case of emergencies.
Muhammad Yahya, Secretary-General of the JCDC, spoke about challenges facing Jordanian public health institutions in terms of preparedness and response to emergencies and the efficiency of their staff.
The gathering tackled several countries' experiences and practices in that regard, with a focus on means to conduct joint monitoring programs, safe clinical care, and coordination in emergencies.
