Economies of Iran, Africa complement one another

(MENAFN) According to Mehdi Safari, deputy foreign minister of Iran for economic diplomacy, the economies of Iran and the African continent are complimentary, and because of their enormous resources, great progress may be made in this area.

He spoke during the IRAN WAC (Iran-West African Countries) Scientific and Economic Cooperation Conference, which began on Monday in Tehran and will end on Wednesday.

The official referred to the Leader's remarks regarding the expansion of economic cooperation with surrounding nations, particularly the African continent, and stated that " In the 13th government, after giving priority to the development of economic diplomacy with the neighbors, increasing trade with the African continent was emphasized and follow-up in this field was put on the agenda."

Iran is taking the required steps to enhance yearly commercial exchanges with African nations to USD5 billion by the Iranian calendar year 1404, according to the head of the country's trade promotion organization (begins in March 2025).
