Mark Middleton's death: Unanswered questions surrounding alleged suicide of top Clinton adviser

(MENAFN) Mark Middleton, a former top adviser to Hillary Clinton, was found dead last May in an alleged suicide. A Perry County, Arkansas sheriff’s report has been made public, revealing that Middleton was found hanging from a tree by an electrical cord, with his chest blown out by a shotgun blast. However, there was no gun found anywhere at the scene.

Perry County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremy Lawson was called to the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas, where Middleton’s vehicle was found abandoned. The report indicates that a gun case and three boxes of 12-gauge buckshot were found in Middleton's black BMW SUV, but no gun.

Although early reports suggested that the businessman hanged himself with the help of a “makeshift gallows,” and that he had brought a table onto the farm owned by animal charity Heifer International some 30 miles from his house, the police report does not mention a table.

According to Lawson's report, he saw what appeared to be a man sitting near a tree, which turned out to be Middleton. There was a "rope of some type going from the tree limb to the male," which was later determined to be an extension cord.

Middleton was a controversial figure, who had been involved in a number of controversies. He had been accused of using his position to further his business interests, and had been linked to the Clinton Foundation. His death has raised questions about whether foul play was involved, and many are calling for a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
