British fighter jet pilot shares experience of ejecting from crashed f-35 jet in BBC documentary

(MENAFN) In November 2021, a British fighter jet, worth pound100m, crashed off a Royal Navy aircraft carrier, and the pilot, who goes by the name Hux, has recently spoken about his experience. He claimed he only had seconds to react after the sudden loss of power on takeoff, which an official investigation later found was probably caused by a cover being left on one of the aircraft's jet intakes.

Hux's story is now part of a BBC series called The Warship: Tour of Duty, which also reveals how the Royal Navy's HMS Queen Elizabeth ship was harassed by Russian aircraft and how it played a dangerous game of hide-and-seek with the Chinese Navy.

Hux spoke to the filmmakers shortly after he was rescued and still had cuts and bruises from the high-speed ejection. In his account, he describes how he tried for emergency power and then tried to use the brakes, but none of his attempts worked. He knew the jet was going to roll off the ship, and he quickly ejected himself. Hux's experience highlights the risks that come with flying fighter jets and the importance of quick thinking and fast reactions in such situations.

The documentary also sheds light on the Royal Navy's encounters with Russian and Chinese forces. The Royal Navy's HMS Queen Elizabeth was reportedly harassed by Russian aircraft, and the ship played a risky game of hide-and-seek with the Chinese Navy. These incidents show the increasing tensions between different world powers and the need for military forces to be vigilant and prepared for unexpected threats.
