Attack On Police Chief Office Injures 5 People In S. Pakistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (KUNA) -- At least five people have received injuries during an ongoing attack by gunmen on the city police chief office in Pakistan's southern Karachi city.
According to the initial police report, several militants attacked the office of the Karachi police chief located in the main Sharea Faisal area.
As senior police official, DIG South Irfan Baloch said that at least six terrorists managed to enter the Karachi Police Chief's office through the rear entrance.
'A heavy contingent of police and rangers has arrived. We are trying to arrest terrorists dead or alive,' he added.
Loud sounds of gunfire and explosions are echoing through the surrounding area. Security forces have cordoned off the area and five injured people have been shifted to the nearest medical facilities. (end)
