Pakistan's Prime Minister Visits Turkish Embassy To Express Solidarity With Quake Victims

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured Ankara that the government and the people of Pakistan's unwavering support for Turkiye during this difficult time.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Turkish Ambassador in Pakistan, Mehmet Pacaci, on Monday to offer condolences over the loss of life and property in the recent earthquake in Turkey, the press information department stated in a press release.
A delegation including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bahutto Zardari, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Economic affairs Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq and many others accompanied the prime minister, the statement said.
He also assured that the government and the people of Pakistan stand in strong solidarity with the people of Turkiye and reiterated that Pakistan would continue its rescue and relief efforts for Turkey's brothers and sisters.
More than 31,000 people have died in a devastating earthquake in Turkey. So far, Islamabad has dispatched over 150 tons of relief goods, including winter tents, clothes, blankets, and food items, to Turkey.
Last week Shehbaz was supposed to visit Turkey to offer his condolences to the earthquake victims, but Turkey, at the last moment, refused to host Pakistan Prime Minister in Ankara.
The visit of Shehbaz to Turkey has been postponed due to Turkish leadership's engagement in the ongoing rehabilitation work and relief of the earthquake victims.
