Russia produces more LNG than ever before

(MENAFN) The Federal Statistics Service Rosstat stated on Wednesday that the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Russia climbed by 8.1 percent last year to a record 32.5 million tons.

According to data, the amount was 2.8 million tons, which was 4.8 percent less than it was in December of 2021. In comparison to November last year, it was 0.4 percent greater. The Sakhalin-2 project's factory generated 11.5 million tons of LNG, according to the study.

The statistics service claimed that after significant planned maintenance work was completed in 2021, a decline in the amount of repairs in last year was the primary factor in the record production.

Rosstat estimates that Russia produced 30.1 million tons of LNG in 2021, and 30.5 million tons of LNG in 2020, a 1.1 percent increase. Moreover, Aleksandr Novak, the deputy prime minister of Russia, had declared that the nation's LNG exports are going to increase by 8 percent in last year to reach 46 billion cubic meters.
