Kuwait PM Sponsors Pan-Gulf Arab Military Drill


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Ministersheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah sponsored and attended on Sunday a military exercise involving Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
The drill, which brought together a number of Kuwaiti state ministers and Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, is an opportunity for the militaries of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to share their combat knowhow, said Kuwaiti Interior Ministry Undersecretary Abdulatif Al-Barjas.
The drill comprised a vast array of exercises, including counterterrorism operations and how to deal with security alerts, both of which help build a 'comprehensive' defense system, His Highness the Prime Minister told the press.
He went on to thank all state bodies involved in putting together this military drill, hoping the exercise would meet its objective of ensuring that the nation is well prepared to deal with any potential security threats. (end)
