GCC Chief Condemns Extremists' Burning Of Holy Quran


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- GCC Secretary General Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf Saturday denounced the burning by extremists of copies of the Holy Quran in Denmark's capital Copenhagen in a systematic and repeated provocative step that inflamed the feelings of Muslims worldwide.
In a press statement, Al-Hajraf stressed the GCC's relentless stance that calls for spreading the value of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence, and denouncing hatred and extremism against the backdrop of these reecent regrettable practices in several European capitals.
The GCC chief called on the international community to intervene urgently to shoulder responsibilities to halt such unacceptable acts. (end)
