Turkey announces victory over fighters from Kurdish side

(MENAFN) The Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday that three PKK militants had been "neutralized" by Turkish soldiers in Iraq. After a bombing in Istanbul last month that left six people dead, Ankara increased its military campaign against the PKK, which it views as a terrorist organization.

“Three PKK terrorists were neutralized in the Gara region in northern Iraq,” the ministry announced on Twitter, noting “our operations will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized.”

Although it's not obvious if such weapons were used to combat the accused terrorists, the tweet featured a video showing a Turkish Bayraktar attack drone detonating a bomb. Regardless of whether the combatants were killed or captured, Türkiye refers to them as having been "neutralized’." on the other hand, according to a previous report by the Turkish Defense Ministry, a Turkish soldier was killed in an attack on a military installation the day before the incident in Iraq.
