Palestinian Prisoner Dies In Israeli Jail

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, Sept 3 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian prisoner, who has been held in an Israeli jail for a couple of months, died in an Israeli jail on Saturday, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.
Mousa Abu Mohameed, 40, from Bethlehem-area village of Beit Tamar, died this morning under mysterious circumstances, the society said in a press statement.
Medical negligence practiced by the Israel Prison Services against Palestinian detainees and prisoners was responsible for Mahameed's death, it said, adding that he was detained two months ago for having allegedly held no entry permit.
Meanwhile the Palestinian Foreign Ministry called for an international investigation into the circumstances of the Palestinian prisoner's death, blaming Israeli occupation authorities responsible for medical negligence.
'The policy of medical negligence practiced by Israeli occupation authorities against prisoners is part of their violations and crimes against our people,' it said in a press statement. (end)
