Japan Condemns Attack On Dohuk In Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TOKYO, July 22 (KUNA) -- Japan on Friday strongly condemned a recent attack on the Dohuk governorate in Iraq, which resulted in multiple civilian casualties.
'We strongly condemn the attack and express deepest condolences to the families of the victims,' Foreign Ministry Press Secretary Hikariko Ono said in a statement.
'Japan will continue to support the efforts of the Iraqi government to ensure peace and stability in Iraq, including in the Kurdistan region,' said the spokeswoman.
Eight civilians were killed and 23 others wounded in an attack in the city of Zakho, the Kurdistan region in the northern province of Duhok, on Wednesday. (end)
