Estithmar's 3 New Projects To Put Doha On Hospitality, Entertainment Map

Doha: Estithmar's The View Hospital, Korean Medical Center, and Winter Wonderland will put Qatar on the map for hospitality and entertainment, said an official. The View Hospital will bring focus on high-class healthcare in the country, said Estithmar Holding Group Chief Executive Officer, Henrik Christiansen on the sidelines of the opening of Project Qatar, Hospitality Qatar at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center which will conclude today.

Set to open in August, the hospital has 101,000 sqm build-up area, 244 beds (ensuite rooms), three elegant presidential suites, six ambassador suites, three royal suites, and 62 VIP suites. Moreover, it has 105 beds (private en-suite inpatient rooms), 26 beds (deluxe rooms), six labor, delivery and recovery rooms, 11 newborn intensive care unit, 12 intensive care units, and 10 operating rooms. It is located at Al Qutaifiya area, in the vicinity of Lusail, Katara and The Pearl-Qatar.

Christiansen also revealed to The Peninsula that the Korean Medical Center (KMC) will“bring a different view of healthcare into the country.”“We are very excited about that, and we have amazing team behind us that specialise in this facility. We also have the Korean Medical Center that's gonna bring a different view of healthcare into the country.”

KMC is the only facility of its kind in GCC that offers the most sought-after high-end specialized Korean Medicine, all under one roof. The medical center is located in Lusail Downtown, and its services are: plastic surgery, dermatology and wellness, ART/Fertility medicine, spine and joint, ophthalmology, dental, pain management, rehab and Korean traditional medicine, executive health check-up and Primary care services. Its Korean partners are JK Medical Group, Limetree Dental Hospital, and Ahnkang Hospital for Pain Free.

Asked on the potential of medical tourism in the country, the Group Chief Executive Officer said the facilities will impact the country especially on the tourism aspect. He also mentioned the Al Maha Island which is expected to attract over 1.5 million visitors a year.

Al Maha Island is located in Lusail near Place Vendome mall and linked to the mainland via causeway. Its main attraction is the Doha Winter Wonderland where Christiansen stressed will bring 500,000 people each season.

The 93,000 m2 theme park will open in November.“Doha Winter Wonderland is gonna be amazing for the whole family, there are 50 rides for everybody, kids and adults alike.” The theme park is set to open from November to March annually. On the value of the theme park, he said:“It's a massive investment from the group, we are investing in hospitality in the country, and we are more than happy to do so.” The project is in collaboration with Qatar Tourism. Moreover, beach club (Nammos – one of world's most elite beach clubs and restaurants), six of the best acclaimed restaurants (ZUMA, LPM restaurant, Em Sherif, Billionaire, Dokya, Jwala), and live music through International Music Festival will be hosting all-year round activities.

The Peninsula also asked Christiansen on his view about investing in the hospitality sector in the country, and he said hospitality will have a“huge interest” prior, during and after the World Cup.“We believe it will continue, the focus will continue.”
