Yemen cease-fire prolonged for 2 months, UN says
(MENAFN) A cease-fire amid Yemen’s opposing rivals has been prolonged for extra two months, shortly ahead it was set to be expired, as said by the UN ambassador on Thursday.
In agreement with Hans Grundberg “I would like to announce that the parties to the conflict have agreed to the United Nations' proposal to renew the current truce in Yemen for two additional months."
Grundberg also said that the prolonged cease-fire will be applied upon the expiry of the recent cease-fire today at 19:00 Yemen’s local time (1600 GMT).
The cease-fire has the same condition of the same contract that was applied on April 2.
As stated by UN ambassador, resident fatalities fell considerably since the cease-fire was applied.
