Works continues on implementation of memorandum signed between Azerbaijan and Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Works continues between Azerbaijan and Iran on the implementation of a memorandum of understanding to establish communication links between the East Zangezur economic region and Nakhchivan, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Ali Alizade told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, in the near future it is planned to hold a meeting at the level of joint working groups of Azerbaijan and Iran on designing bridges to be built on both sides, i.e. from Nakhchivan and from the East Zangezur economic region.

Ambassador noted that after the approval of the bridge projects, the necessary steps will be taken.

On March 11, 2022, the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a memorandum of understanding in Baku on the creation of new communication links between the East Zangezur economic region and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through the territory of Iran.
