Pakistan's 3,600 tons of wheat arrive in Afghanistan

Pakistan's special representative for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq Khan said that 28 trucks carrying 3,600 tons of wheat gifted by the Pakistani government arrived at the Torkham crossing on Monday, February 28, 2022.

Mohammad Sadiq Khan in a series of Twitter posts said that the wheat was handed over to Afghan officials at the eastern Crossing of Afghanistan.

Pakistan's ambassador to Afghanistan Manssor Ahmad Khan was also present at the occasion.

“Humanitarian relief goods are sent by Pakistan across the border almost on daily basis.” Reads a Tweet.

The delivery of grains from Pakistan to Afghanistan comes days after India started sending its 50,000 tons of wheat to Afghanistan through Pakistan.

The decision was made after months-long talks between the Indian and Pakistani officials.
