Europe uses Ukraine’s gas storage facilities as “safe deposit”

(MENAFN) Europe considers using Ukraine’s underground gas storages to steady probable power emergency.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal mentioned at a meeting of questions to the Government at the Verkhovna Rada, "Ukrainian gas storage facilities have a volume of 33 billion cubic meters, of which we use about 20-24 billion cubic meters as a rule. In any case, we can use our gas storage facilities as a ‘gas safe deposit’ for European companies," wrote a Ukrinform reporter.

As the PM mentioned, the European firms previously storage part of their gas reservations in Ukraine storages in the customs warehouse administration. Simultaneously, Ukraine will debate with Europe to systemize the process.
