Non Resident Nepali Association Qatar marks 19th foundation day

Doha: Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Qatar organised a programme to mark 19th year of its establishment in Doha recently.

Leaders and representatives of Nepali community in Qatar attended the programme.

They appreciated the community welfare activities carried out by the NRNA Qatar over the years especially those related to social activities run by NRNA Qatar supporting the needy members of Nepali community during COVID-19 pandemic. Addressing the programme, Head of Awareness and Labour Organization at Qatar's Ministry of Labor, Ali Salih Al Khalaf, lauded NRNA Qatar for collaboration with the Ministry in organising various community awareness activities.

He said that Nepali community is an integral component of Qatar's development and progress, assuring that the Ministry would continue to collaborate and support for community awareness and welfare activities. Charge d'Affaires of Embassy of Nepal, Lakshuman Khanal, expressed felicitations on the occasion of 19th foundation day of NRNA Qatar. 

He commended the community welfare activities of NRNA with the support from various sections of Nepali community in Qatar. Khanal also urged the community members to work for enhanced people-to-people relations while also exploring enhanced economic engagements.

Khanal said that NRNA is also serving as a platform for promoting Nepali culture, highlighting tourism potentials of Nepal and explore investment and business opportunities in Nepal in collaboration with businesses in Qatar. 

President of NRNA Qatar, Mohammad Muktda Musalman, thanked the founders and predecessors of the organisation for passing on the legacy of community identity and welfare activities. 

He expressed his commitment to move ahead with activities and engagements for promoting community welfare and awareness activities with support from and in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders. Musalman also thanked all participants for being a part of the celebration of the foundation day.

The event was attaended by ICC Secretary RK Sharma, Adviser TB Karki, Founding Member Sagar Nepal, Honorary Council Members Sani Kumar Oli and BimalSubedi, ICC members, NCC advisers and Doha-based head of Nepali Association. The programme was moderated by NCC Secretary Padam Giri.
