Qatar- Directorate of Traffic launches awareness drive for camping season

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The General Directorate of Traffic organized a press conference to announce the launch of an awareness drive for the camping season 2020-2021, with the participation and presence of many relevant authorities.
The officials explained the measures to be taken by the Sealine Committee to reduce traffic accidents during the camping season as well as traffic patrol plans. They stressed the need to adhere to laws and guidelines to maintain traffic safety and explained how to deal with car drivers who commit traffic offences such as illegal car shows outside the circuit, drifting, manipulating, crowding etc.
The press conference also highlighted the most prominent wrong driving habits and the role of families and parents in monitoring their children, especially those who are underage, to reduce these behaviours.
The officials also did presentation about the ambulance service and the procedures to respond to emergencies in the camping sites, the most frequently reported injuries, and awareness tips and instructions for enhancing the safety of campers and protecting them from the risk of various accidents.
The representative of Mawater Center explained their experience in organizing the car show circuit during the last season. He also presented the most important suggestions and ideas adopted by the Center to develop the show circuit, the preparations for the current season, as well as the conditions for participating in the show circuit and the safety measures taken.
The representative from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment briefed driving habits that may affect wildlife and the environment, and the measures taken against violators based on the Wildlife Law and the Ministerial Decision, in coordination with the Sealine Committee and the Mawater Centre.
