Opinion: Extension of the US withdrawal dims the chances of peace in Afghanistan as 2019 election approaches

(MENAFN- Ahmadzai) The 2019 Afghanistan election will see the long-war continue when peace talks with the Taliban have not reached agreement on the US withdrawal as timeline stretches to 2020.

These talks will serve nothing as the timeline has been expanded and there is no withdrawal of soldiers from the nation causing more pain to the Afghan people.

But repeatedly, the Taliban have asked the U.S. government to withdraw soldiers to agree to end the conflict. And the American people want an end to the conflict, but there is still no answer to the conflict after three U.S. regimes.

The latest peace talks in Qatar and Doha with the Taliban will go on to the ninth round, while the Afghan government has not yet come to the table with them.

In Afghanistan, former President Hamid Karzai criticizes U.S. plans. He said that in Afghanistan, Pakistan should not be permitted to negotiate the peace deal. His remarks come after Pakistan's PM Imran Khan visits to Washington.

Afghanistan has more than 30 million people, and many are still waiting for a solution to the conflict. Approximately 20 years of war spent about $1 trillion on the war in Afghanistan so far.

The conflict also saw 7 million refugees moving to Iran and Pakistan and about 3 million killed as a consequence of the long-imposed conflict that has lasted for four decades.

The U.S. defense has recently expanded troop withdrawal to 2020. After the election, Afghanistan's new administration is likely to sign American forces ' expansion agreement.

Meanwhile, in order to bring real peace to Afghanistan, the facilitation of the 100 different tribes and elders, including Pashtuns, Hazara and Uzbeck, etc., to be included in order to resolve the conflict.

When Donald Trump's administration extends the presence of their troops in the war-torn nation, the Afghan and U.S. people want an end to the fight.
