Doha: Oryx GTL has provided financial support for consultancy sessions program (psychological counselling) conducted by Mental Health Friends Association (Weyak). The support was presented to Mohammed Al Binali, Executive Manager of Weyak, by Ibrahim Essa Al Kuwari, coordinator of social service responsibility and Mohammad Azran Al Marri, contracts and purchases manager at Oryx.
Al Binali expressed his thanks for the active role played by Oryx GTL in supporting community and humanitarian programs and activities. He called on all national institutions to support psychological, educational and family programmes of Weyak. He added that the Association, which has been in its fifth year since it was launched, has been able to implement hundreds of counselling, psychological, educational and behavioural sessions through mobile and the Association's website and application in the framework of its mission to raise awareness in mental health.
The consultancy sessions, launched by the Association in early 2018, provided psychological counselling support for people which enabled them to overcome the problems and pressures they face in their lives, Al Binali said. More than 249,220 people have benefited from the services provided by Weyak from 2014 till now.
The services provided by Weyak includes psychological counselling, lectures, training workshops and training programmes. The number of training workshops for specialists, individuals and institutions has reached more than 8,000.
