Lebanon's economic crisis sees 2,200 companies closure

(MENAFN) Lebanon has been struck with a great number of firms which closed their doors since this year's beginning.

As a result of a slow paced economy, around 2,200 companies were announced to have been shut down since early 2018.

Head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture warned: "we are on the verge of an economic breakdown."

The statement has been made by Mohamad Choucair while speaking to TV Channel MTV during an interview.

Choucair added that the majority of Lebanese citizens have been hit with a poor condition while their country is expected to be slapped with massive bankruptcies in the near future.
