Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, a rare treat for aficionados, woos powerful visitors
The 14th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE), which opened yesterday at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), is expected to attract more visitors and boost sales due to an aggressive marketing campaign undertaken by organisers.
'We have done great promotional and marketing activities to attract GCC and international guests. We have also forged partnership with Qatar Airways which has done a great job to number of visitors to the event, Ahmed Al Obaidly, Director of Exhibitions at Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) told reporters at the launch event.
One of the longest running exhibitions and most anticipated event in Qatar, DJWE has seen huge turnout during its past editions.
'Through the marketing and social media campaign that we did in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other countries in the region, and with our partnership with Qatar Airways which has offered double Qmiles and 40 percent discount, we are hoping to attract thousands of visitors and increase sales, explained Al Obaidly.
Aside from an impressive lineup of over 400 international brands and 43 local and international exhibitors, this year's edition promises a lot more with a number of new features in store for visitors, he added.
'An important highlight of the exhibition that visitors should see is the Young Qatari Designers exhibition which provides platform for merging designers to showcase their brands. We also have a section where very unique pieces, some of which are more than 120 years old, are being displayed. We have both modern and old exceptional pieces here on show here, explained Al Obaidly.
