Qatar- 69 outlets booked for flouting rules


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Ministry of Economy and Commerce discovered 69 violations at commercial outlets across the country for flouting the consumer protection law last month.

The erring outlets were booked during inspection by the Ministry to ensure the compliance of the provisions of the law No. 8 of 2008 on Consumer Protection.

The highest — 16 violations — were related to failing to comply with the list of selling prices before and during discount, followed by 12 failing to announce product/service prices. Four violations related to clearly identifying service information, including its advantages, characteristics and prices.

Other violations included failing to announce product/service prices in Arabic, failing to comply with the prices of fruits and vegetables stated in the daily bulletin, declaring reductions without obtaining approval from the authority and selling and displaying expired products.
