Jordan- Lower House examines 37 bills in 3rd ordinary session


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, May 23 (Petra) -- Lower House Speaker, Atif Tarawneh, Monday, said the chamber debated over 37 bills in 49 legislative and oversight sessions during the house's third ordinary session.

In a press conference held today, Tarawneh said deputies directed 292 questions, of which the government replied to 220 of them.

He added the third ordinary session saw several reforms, where the Constitution was amended, in addition to the electoral law to the House of Representatives, which is the essential foundation for the political development and democratic life in the Kingdom, as well as the integrity and anti-corruption and decentralization bills.

Tarawneh also pointed to hosting the Women in Parliaments Global Forum, which was held for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa, and brought together 260 political and parliamentary women from 89 countries.
