Jordan, Japan sign USD196m loan agreement


(MENAFN) The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Japan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to grant the Kingdom a soft loan of about USD196 million, Jordan News Agency reported.

The agreement was signed by the Jordanian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Japanese Embassy in Amman. The loan will be dedicated for a period of 25 years with an interest rate of 1.7 percent.

The loan will be divided into two payments, USD97.5 million each. The first will be granted right after the signing of the agreement.
