Meanwhile lack of new products with more advanced technologies being launched in 2014 to attract consumers also resulted in retail volume sales decline of image devices.

Imaging devices is likely to record a retail volume CAGR of -6% over the forecast period mainly owing to the mounting threat from multifunction devices such as smartphones. With the expected improved technologies to offer better picture and video qualities an increasing number of consumers will directly use their smartphones for capturing images.
