(MENAFNEditorial) Amman, May 2014 - Middle East Payment Services (MEPS) - a leading, innovative payment services provider in the Levant - has participated as sliver sponsor at 'Cards & Payments Middle East 2014', the Middle East's largest smartcard, payments and ID event, which was held in Dubai, UAE. Drawing the participation of over 5,000 attendees and more than 200 exhibitors from across the region, 'Cards & Payments Middle East 2014' hosted approximately 100 VIPs from regional banks, 300 buyer meetings and 80 conference sessions.
During the first day of the event, MEPS Chairman Dr. Abdul Malik Jaber delivered a keynote speech on e-Commerce opportunities in the region, presenting statistics and trends, as well as discussed methods to reduce cash-on-delivery payments. Dr. Jaber also spoke about the MasterCard Internet Gateway Services (MIGS) which significantly facilitates e-Commerce processes, and touched on the payment ecosystem as a whole.
As part of its sponsorship, MEPS also exhibited a range of premium payment products and services at the event, which is considered the region's leading marketplace to demo, test and purchase the latest cutting-edge cards and payment solutions.
MEPS' involvement in the event was remarkably successful, both in terms of the extent of participation and the number of visitors to the Company's booth. Maha Al-Bahou, Executive Director of the Payment Systems and Banking Operations Department at the Central Bank of Jordan, as well as numerous executives from various banks, central banks and official entities interested in the payment industry visited the MEPS booth which showcased a lineup of cutting-edge products that were well received by the attendees.
