(MENAFNEditorial) As part of its strategic objective to invest in employees and improve their performance, APM Terminals Bahrain, the operators of Khalifa bin Salman Port, recently completed the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training for employees. Lean Six Sigma is a structured, problem-solving approach designed to help master techniques to improve process performance and consistency within an organization. The training was conducted by Gerard Poolman, Abdelrahman Elshamy and Sarah Janati during two weeks from 2nd to 6th March 2014 and from 4th to 8th May 2014. More than 21 employees from different departments attended the training which was held at Movenpick Hotel. The curriculum provided an expanded set of tools which further enhanced employee ability to deliver significant value to the company. As part of the improvement initiative, the Green Belt trainees were armed with a powerful set of problem solving tools that form, lead, and mentor teams on solving complex, high return projects. APM Terminals Bahrain regularly conducts training programmes on a range of subjects including creating a Safer working environment at the port. Training is carried out both at class room and work-sites to empower workers and upgrade their skill levels.
