(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, July 20 (KUNA) -- A boat carrying 31 tourists capsized and sank near Branson, Missouri, Thursday killing at least 11 people, including children, said a local security source.
Six people are unaccounted for and 14 survived, Stone Country Sheriff Doug Rader indicated.
The vessel, a duck boat that travels on land and water, was on Table Rock Lake when it began tilting to the side as ripples in the lake turned into large waves, as seen in eyewitness video.
Diving teams searched the waters to find victims and will resume the search on Friday.
Rader indicated that an off-duty deputy helped in the initial rescue. There were life jackets on the boat but it is unknown if people actually wore them. (end) ak.gta
