Pakistan beat Scotland by 48 runs in first T20

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Pakistan defeated Scotland by 48 runs in the first match of the two-match T20 series at Edinburg on Tuesday night.

Pakistan elected to bat first after winning the toss and scored 204 runs for the loss of four wickets. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was top scorer with 89 runs, while all-rounder Shoaib Malik scored 53.

AC Evans took three wickets for Scotland.

Scotland while chasing the mammoth total could score 156 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted overs. MA Leask scored 38, while KJ Koetzer scored 31.

Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali took two wickets each, while Muhammad Nawaz and Muhammad Aamir took one wicket each.

Scotland were looking dangerous going into the game after defeating top-ranked England in their ODI encounter on Sunday. However, Pakistan's superior bowling attack proved too good for Scotland in the T20 encounter.

The second match in the series takes place today (Wednesday), at the same venue. The match will begin at 8:00pm (PST).
