(MENAFN- Trend News Agency ) A summit involving South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will start on the morning of April 27 and will include an official dinner on the South Korean side of Panmunjom, the demilitarized zone that separates the two countries, a spokesperson for the South Korean president told reporters on Monday, TASS reports.
The corresponding agreement was made at negotiations between the two Koreas on Monday.
"The South and North carried out three rounds of dialogue at the working level that focused on the protocol issues, security and media coverage of the summit on April 27. The ultimate decision has been made today," he noted.
The official also reported that North Korea agreed that part of the meeting of the two countries' leaders would be televised live. For this purpose a group of South Korean reporters will be admitted to the northern part of Panmunjom.
On March 5, South Korea's delegation met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang. The sides agreed to hold a meeting of the two countries' leaders. The North also expressed readiness to hold a similar event with the US president. The high-level dialogue that followed set the date of the intra-Korean summit for April 27. Kim Jong-un and Trump are expected to meet this May or June.
