Jordan, Germany agree to promote cooperation in energy field


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, April 21 (Petra) -- Jordan and Germany agreed to launch a partnership between the two countries in the field of energy through adopting an action plan aiming to promote transfer of technology and knowledge and conduct an initial feasibility study on electricity trade between the two countries.

During meetings held, on the sidelines of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue BETD 2018 , between Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh with German officials, the two sides agreed to establish action plans and programs to enhance joint cooperation in various energy aspects.

Kharabsheh also discussed with the German Minister of Energy and Economy and senior officials the memorandum of understanding signed by the two sides during the royal visit to Germany at the end of 2016.

Kharabsheh was a keynote speaker at the first ministerial session of BETD, highlighting Jordan's efforts and expertise in various energy-related fields.

The conference commended Jordan's achievements, especially in renewable energy sector.

BETD is a platform for an international public and private audience to come together to discuss viable concepts for the ongoing global transformation of the energy sector.
