Pakistan- Quetta Gladiators make short work of Lahore Qalandars


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Quetta Gladiators defeated Lahore Qalandars by nine wickets in a match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Dubai on Saturday.

Gladiators after winning the toss invited Qalandars to bat first and restricted them to 119/9 despite blazing start by openers Brendon McCullum (30) and Sunil Narine (28).

Archer took three wickets, Muhammad Nawaz took two wickets, while Rahat Ali, Shane Watson and Hasan Khan took one wicket each.

Gladiators surpassed the target in 14 overs with the loss of one wicket. Shane Watson was pick of the batsmen with his blazing 66 off 42. Narine took the only wicket for Qalandars.

Muhammad Nawaz was declared player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance. He conceded just four runs in his four overs and also took two wickets.

Lahore Qalandars are now at rock bottom of the points table with two losses from two. Quetta have won one and lost the other, and are placed third.

In today's (Sunday) matches, Multan Sultans will face Islamabad United, while Karachi Kings will take on Peshawar Zalmi.
