Kiran didn't expect such numbers for 'Secret Superstar' in China

The massive success of 'Secret Superstar' at the Chinese box office has even surprised producer Kiran Rao. Overwhelmed with the response from the neighboring country, she said that the film was made with a lot a love and she is glad that the audience has connected with it so well.
Kiran was present at the success party of 'Secret Superstar' along with Aamir Khan.

"We are thrilled. We made this film with a lot of love and it connected with the audience, that was a big thing for us. But the kind of love the film is receiving in China, I don't think any of us expected that," she said.
Aamir hails director Advait Chandan
Rightly so
Mr. Perfectionist has credited Advait Chandan for the terrific numbers put up by 'Secret Superstar' at the worldwide box office.
He said, "We are really happy that 'Secret Superstar' has been so successful all around the world, so all the credit goes to Advait for wonderful writing and direction that he has done."
The film has so far earned approximately Rs. 874 crore globally.
'Secret Superstar' is India's second highest grossing ever
Context
On the back of the humongous business of over Rs. 750 crore in China, 'Secret Superstar' has surpassed 'PK' (Rs. 832 crore) to become India's second highest grossing ever.
The film was made on a shoe-string budget of Rs. 16 crore and did a reasonable business of Rs. 60 crore plus in India.
