Ukrainian president, Danish foreign minister discuss security situation in Donbas, release of hostages


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with Foreign Minister of Denmark Anders Samuelsen.

This has been reported by the press service of the Head of State.

The parties discuss the security situation in Donbas, the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the release of the Ukrainian hostages and political prisoners.

The interlocutors note the importance and coordinated approaches in the framework of the international efforts on ensuring the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in the occupied territory of the Donbas, including the uncontrolled area of the Ukraine-Russia state border.

The President thanks Denmark for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and its unwavering position in the issue of preserving the regime of sanctions against Russia until full restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Head of State thanks Denmark for the comprehensive support of the process of reforms in Ukraine.

The President praises the initiative of Denmark as regards holding the second International ConferenceonReforms in Ukraine in Copenhagen in June of 2018.

The parties discuss further counteraction to the Nord Stream 2 project.
