Pakistan- Govt hospitals asked to clean water tanks two times in a year


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has declared two-time cleaning of water tanks at all the hospitals and teaching institutes mandatory in a year.

All the subordinate departments of the Health Department have been directed to clean the water tanks in January and June. These institutes have also been directed to ensure the use of chemicals for cleaning according to the principles of the World Health Organisation. The first campaign in this regard will start from Saturday which will continue for a week.

The Health Department said the Independent Monitoring Unit will monitor the cleaning and chlorination of the water tanks. The district health officer will test the samples of water after every two months.
