Crown shares soar after asset sales announcement


(MENAFN) After Crown Resorts shares have jumped after it has announced a series of asset sales that could bring a windfall of about 700m USD.

The sales include two floors of its luxury Crown Sydney complex at Barangaroo to James Packer, its biggest shareholder.

After the market closed on Thursday the casino operator said that Packer will pay 60m USD for two residential floors of Crown Sydney, located above the mid-levels of the luxury high rise project.

As for the second sale, it is of about 4.2m shares in Caesars Entertainment Corporation that a Crown subsidiary, which are worth about 54m USD.

Lastly, Crown will be selling its 50% interest in the luxury Ellerston property of Packer family, in the NSW Hunter Valley to Packer's Consolidated Press Holdings Pty Limited and an entity related to his sister Gretel Packer for 62.5m USD.
