Pakistan- Gas outage sparks protests in Charsadda


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) CHARSADDA: Residents of different villages of Charsadda district on Monday staged demonstrations against gas outages and blocked main road leading to Peshawar for traffic.

The protesters in Charsadda, Tangi and Sherpao villages blocked the road and burnt tyres on it causing severe traffic jam. The protesters chanted slogans against the government for not paying heed to their miseries and demanded to take steps to resolve the outages.

The protesters said that gas outages coupled with power cuts have added to their problems. Not only the residents but also hotels and CNG filling stations were affected severely, the protesters said and added that gas outages have led to hike in prices of liquefied petroleum gas.

They added that gas outages started with arrival of winter seasons and demanded of the government to take steps to overcome the outages or else they would launch a protest drive.
