UN confirms support to Lebanon's security, sovereignty
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) New York, Nov.6 (Petra)-- The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres late Sunday expressed concern over the resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and called for safeguarding the security and stability of the country.
In a statement, Guterres said the international body is committed to supporting the security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon.
The statement expressed hope that all sides will focus their efforts on supporting continuity of the state institutions and adhere to the constitution.
