Bahrain, UNDP sign strategic partnership agreement


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MANAMA, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- A Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement for 2018-22 was signede in Manama Tuesday between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khaled Al-Khalifa and Amin Al-Sharkawi, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to the Kingdom signed the agreement at the General Court of the ministry earlier today.

On the occasion, the Minister affirmed that the Strategic Partnership Framework is a new important step in the ongoing cooperation between the Kingdom and UN in all fields.

"This will aid in the implementation of the government work plan 2015-2018, within the government priorities and the Bahraini Economic Vision 2030 and bring them into line with UN Sustainable development Goals (SDGs) 2030," said Sheikh Khalid according to Bahrain News Agency.

On his part, Al-Sharkawi affirmed that the Strategic Partnership Framework is in total harmony with Bahrain's development strategies and policies and constitutes a broader coordination platform for UN Agencies to assist with support project. (end) hmd.hb
