World Turtle Day observed in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 23th May, 2017 (WAM) -- In line with its environmental conservation efforts, the tourism Development & investment Company, TDIC, has observed the World Turtle Day.
Marking the occasion which takes place on the 23rd of May every year, TDIC, the master developer of tourism, cultural and residential destinations in Abu Dhabi, released a dozen rehabilitated Hawksbill turtles back to the sea on Tuesday.
The released marine creatures were rehabilitated at a special centre on Sir Bani Yas Island. The event took place at Saadiyat Beach Club, where representatives from TDIC's environment team carefully released the turtles in presence of delegates from the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi and more than 50 students, teachers, and guests.
