ABU DHABI, 22nd March, 2017 (WAM) -- The UAE has yet again been ranked the happiest country in the Arab world for the third consecutive year. The United Nations World Happiness Report 2017 states the country has come in 21st globally. This is a huge achievement by a nation born just 46 years ago. The survey measured happiness based on factors such as per capita income and standard of living, as well as satisfaction with life, commented a UAE daily.
"The UAE's development has been spectacular and the key to success has been the policies pursued by the leadership that has always kept the people's interests as the top priority. Decisions have been made to better lives in an atmosphere that is conducive, peaceful and stable. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, said on twitter that the UAE has happy people, satisfied expatriates, a promising economy and a leadership that is keen on completing the mission," The Gulf News said in an editorial on Wednesday.
"The UAE's high ranking on the happiness index is because of decisions taken by its leadership. The standard of health, education, transport and infrastructure is world class. The UAE has become a hub of business that attracts multinational companies. Citizens enjoy a high a standard of life and opportunities that are unparalleled. And it is because of the opportunities that the UAE offers that expatriates flock here in millions. Governance is almost paperless, which is another reason residents do not suffer everyday stress while completing tasks."
"The UAE has placed the happiness of residents high on the agenda with a minister in charge of the Happiness Ministry. The happiness index is gauged at virtually every layer of transactions conducted. The strategy is so focused that it ensures the UAE always ranks high in the index," the Dubai-based daily concluded.
