(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A professional training session was held at Pakistan School Muscat; the training drew the curtains from teacher-centered emotional intelligence, bringing out the growing recognition of teachers' emotional competencies in the classrooms embedding the academic excellence of the students.
The training session followed a sequel and was separately conducted for the teachers of the junior wing as well as the senior wing.
Principal Junior School, Munazza Ghafoor, a seasoned trainer, saddled the workshop. Teaching staff of the junior school attended the workshop. Senior principal, Pakistan Schools in Oman, Attaullah Niazi along with Munazza conducted the training for senior teachers. Participants included Khalid Jadoon, principal, Pakistan School Muscat and all the teachers of the senior school.
The course of the training was designed by Munazza and marked the recognition of interdependent cognitive grounds and emotions along with their far-reaching effects on students' day-to-day performance.
It aimed at uncovering the perspective of emotional intelligence comprising the ability to identify, understand and regulate emotions to form the enriching learning environment of classrooms.
Various activities covering the practicality of emotional intelligence were conducted to actively engage teachers, leading them to the deeper perception of emotions in the school environment.
The activities such as 'Yarn the web' helped the members in understanding the benefits of team work.
'In a profession like teaching, which is based on the understanding students' emotions by teachers, distinguishing and channelising emotions in the right direction are key factors for the success of students and such trainings serve to create a link between the teachers and provide the required level of understanding,' said Niazi.
