Trump to increase defense spending by USD54bn

(MENAFN) White House revealed that U.S. President Donald Trump aims to boost U.S. defense spending by 10%, or USD54 billion.

White House officials said the money to enhance military building-up could come from high cuts to almost every non-security category, containing foreign aid and local discretionary plans.

Trump further added during a bipartisan meeting of U.S. governors that this budget is estimated to be a public safety and national security budget.

Moreover, US president's scheme will also call for rises in spending on homeland security, intelligence, the Department of Justice as well as law enforcement.
